Charleville-Mézières Place Ducale and surroundings, world capital of puppetry, hosts the 23rd edition of the World Puppet Theatre Festival, a unique festival which, since its creation in 1961, has become a benchmark event throughout the world!
Created by Jacques Félix in 1961 and directed since 2020 by Pierre-Yves Charlois, this major event brings together (every 2 years only!) artists and companies from all over the world to celebrate the art of puppetry in all its forms.
In a festive atmosphere (the entire city vibrates to the rhythm of creativity and poetry), explore moving, funny or spectacular stories using puppeteer techniques from all four corners of the globe.
On the program:
International shows, with many performances, ranging from timeless classics to contemporary creations.
Artistic meetings: Exchanges and discoveries with talented puppeteers.
Workshops and activities: Activities for young and old to learn the art of puppetry.
Parades and street performances: A live spectacle throughout the city.
